Can We Change the Debate on Climate?
Our Shared Planetary Energy Future: Revolutionizing the approach to solving the leading crisis of energy poverty
DATE: January 17, 2024 TIME: 10AM - 2PM
LOCATION: Keiser University Flagship Campus

About the Conference:
Have you ever wondered about the relationship between ensuring effective and environmentally friendly energy, lifting masses out of poverty and promoting gender equality? While at first glance, these issues are very far apart, in fact, there's an immediate and growing connection between them!
The years 2023 to 2040 are shaping up to be the most significant time for fundamental changes in energy capacity, availability and usage in world history. While climate change is cited by many as the “forcing medium” for this transformation, worldwide technological progress in the energy rich technologies, including smaller nuclear power plant, design, and the non-fossil fuel technology of thermonuclear nuclear fusion, may make available greater amounts of power than what has been available through other means, including solar, wind, coal and oil. Thereby truly address poverty and improve living standards.
What does this mean for future energy policy over the next two decades, and how can new generations of producers and consumers help usher in a new age of prosperity benefiting both nature and mankind? Noted South African Physicist, Dr. Kelvin Kemm-Chairman of Stratek Global (Pty) and past Chairman of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation & Princess Mthombeni-founder of “Africa4Nuclear” , will provide a surprising and exciting personification of a new, cross-generational form of thinking and cooperation for a positive future, devoid of faddism, ideology and political posturing, and filled with hope for the future
Dr. Kelvin Kemm is the Chairman of Stratek Global (Pty) and past Chairman of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation. He is a Plenary Guest Speaker at the World Nuclear Association in London, Plenary Guest Speaker at the African Union Economic Summit in Mauritius in 2017. Dr. Kemm has also given briefings to both US Senate and Congress in Washington.
Princess Mthombeni is the founder of “Africa4Nuclear” and a speaker at numerous world forums, most recently the 2023 COP28. She is an advocate of empowering girls and women through education and technology, and a world where no one is left behind and everyone can live with dignity and opportunity.
This conference aims to catalyze audience, especially high school and college student participation in not only “Q&A”, but real critical thinking and discourse on matters of science, scientific inquiry, and the right to discovery, which are vital to both the national security and the future of our young people. It aims to catalyze an educated population of individuals who are energized through optimism and clarity about our science future, and inspire new directions in thought, and new solutions through action.
